The Genuine Toyota Denso 04221-27012 suction control valves (SCV) kit with red & green plugs for the KDJ90 & KDJ95 Land Cruiser fitted with the 1KDFTV 3.0 Litre engine between August 2000 - September 2002 manufactured by Denso. Genuine kit consists of: 1x Suction control valve with a RED plug. 1x Suction control valve with a GREEN plug. Both suction control valves are packaged in sealed plastic packaging to keep everything spotlessly clean prior to installation. In short, the suction control valve controls the fuel pressure sent to the fuel pump, if the valve is not producing enough fuel pressure the engine will not start. The fuel suction control valve or also known as a fuel pressure control valve comprises of a fuel-cooled solenoid valve, the valve opening is varied by its solenoid coil being pulse width modulated at a frequency of 1 KHz. When the pressure control valve is not activated, its internal spring maintains a fuel pressure of about 100 Bar. When the valve is activated, the force of the electromagnet aids the spring, reducing the opening of the valve and so increasing fuel pressure. The fuel pressure control valve also acts as a mechanical pressure damper, smoothing the high-frequency pressure pulses emanating from the radial piston pump when less than three pistons are activated.
